well, 558 will keep improving as far as you want to practically go.
thats why imo you will get biggest jump and hence best value by upgrading hps.
So in your opinion upgrading HP's is a better return than keeping on upgrading amps, is that correct?
Depends. With some TOTL HPs, amps make a serious difference. Example: HE 6.
But in my low to mid-tier price range (Max. 300 USD or approx. 20,000 INR) do you also agree that upgrading headphones is a better option than upgrading amps Mr Ganesh? I do feel that Vaibhav has a good point.
Most certainly I do agree...In this range, things are easier to drive in general. But you know what? You should look at the Geek Out. For your price range, it can drive some orthos and even the HD 800 reasonably well. I have two Geek Outs and I've run the run the Audez'e LCD cans as well as the HD 800. If you can DIY, the Bottlehead Crack or Project Ember is a very good amp. You do have options for $300 these days.
Thank you for the suggestion, will check out the Geek Out, I'd also read about their upcoming player as well. As I mentioned a few posts ago, I'm waiting in hope for the new A series Walkman to be released in November, and hopefully connect it through line out to the amp. Will check out the Geek devices first, thanks once again
walkman won't come to india though, sadly
nope only xba-a1 if at all as a replacement to useless xba-h1.
I say this as I returned h1 last year after a week of use.
Word of advice-stay away from a2,the h2 on which its an improvements was a total flop last year,h3 sold well though.
U better invest in dunu or other iem's or if u want sony then jump to a3.
Or wait for extensive review before ordering as it will cost at least 200$.
