Well, my fiio amp just arrived 2 days ago and it was working fine until now. When I plug the amp to my sansa clip, and turned it on, no sound at all. Should I send it back for repair?

Do you have the source/phones plugged in in the right places? Try being a little more forceful with the vol+ button, mine sometimes gets jammed.

Ok, well the only other thing I would maybe try is dicharging it fully (overnight or something) and then trying again. But the e5 doesnt have any comlpex circuitry or firmware or anything, so I doubt that would help. I'd cotact Fiio or your retailer at this point.

Yeah, it comes with two interconnect cables. The OP should be able to try swapping them easily.

I am pretty sure that there is nothing wrong with the cables. I've gotten a reply from focalprice telling me obvious things to check so that they can keep the money.

No help at all! I am wondering if you can disassemble the E5 to see what's wrong.

The E5 is quite easy to take apart. Heres a post of someone gutting their E5. Not sure what you would be able to see besides an (improbable) loose connection, but it shouldnt take you more than 10 mins.

I had a Fiio E5 (temporarily) die on me. It just stopped making any sound at all, but it had worked fine before.

I left it turned on until the LED stopped shining, recharged it, and it worked fine. My theory: the battery charge-timer circuitry got confused, and letting it full discharge allowed that circuitry to reboot or reset itself.

Yes, but now, my red led light that is supposed to be bright is now fainted red. you can barley see it at night. I'll try your theory for 2 days and see how it goes. My fiio amp just has no hiss or sound what so ever! Hope your theory works.
