Both are priced at $399 USD

Both are new products with little reviews

Which will you go for if you can't wait for reviews to come out, UE4Pro or JH5Pro?

Yap, I did read Jude's review on the UE4..
Also read from one of headphoneaddict post which he said the UE4Pro demo customs reminded him a lot of the Westone UM3X universals when used with his UM56 custom tip

hmm.How about the JH5pro.. any people who went to canJam and talked to the JH staffs about the JH5pro ?

I haven't seen that HPA review of the UE4pro demos, but I'd be very interested to read it.

I know the JH5pro uses a dual-driver setup. Also, the initial price on the JH5pro was reduced from $600 to $400, which may have been a response to the UE4's pricing. Whether that means that the JH will compete at a higher level, I have no idea.

Both would be on the short-list of customs I'd be interested in if I were in the market. I'd also keep an eye on the new triple driver livewires/fidelity's as well as the new quad-driver from UM. All are around $400 with the quad-driver likely to be at least a hundred more...

you will get a 2 year warranty with JH instead of one year like UE, i must also say being a Super fi 5 Pro owner. UEs support was pretty crappy and slow, JH seems much quicker so far, im planning on getting the JH5 pro over the UE4 pro. UE is now owned by a fat cat corporation too, so screw them!

heh chicagojammer that is completely accurate. From what I have heard is the quality of the customer service has gone down since the company was sold to logitech. Personally it seems like the cans themselves are very very close but may be the things behind them will be enough to set them apart.

quality bro.

same reason why a single armature driver er4p/s has such a hefty price after so long.

is it worth to get a JH13pro custom when the technology is moving so fast?

I wouldn't call it "fast" ue-11 which were considered top end along with the ue-10 for the longest time have both been out for quite a while before being out played by the jh-13 and the es3x and even at that they are still a major player.

you really reckon its quality and not just cos its new and everyone wants a new thing? i've seen the C3s and FreQs and Sleek customs and they all look well built!

Sound Quality and Reputation - I was disappointed with my Freq Show Music Makers - posted that in a review vs my Livewires. Ever since I have been reluctant to consider the new little guys. I would consider Westone, Ultimate Ears, and JH Audio (former UE founder).

i see... thats kinda why i do a lot of research before buying something... i'll try to get the best idea of the sound signature of each custom before i decide. and to be frank.. the ue4s and JH5pro just don't have enough reviews to warrant a purchase.. kinda why i'm leaning to the C3s for my first customs.. i'll go for the little guys when they provide spectacular customer service =)

on a side note if i do have 1000 bucks to blow... i'd like to know what the jh13s are all about

Notice that UE's support was great when they first introduced SF5Pro to gain good reputation. Now that they are a well known brand they can cut back on support which is why I believe Logitech has nothing to do with it. While JH and Phonak has great customer service right now since they recently came up, I would expect them to decline as well once they reach their goal. But I could be wrong, since few established brands still have great service IMO.
