The discount is probably because most ppl who want the a taste of top customs will obviously get JH13, getting JH11 is kinda "not so worth it", only 100 dollars cheaper.

The JH11 is now $250 cheaper..

I thought so, too.

Thanks. Yes, I remember having read this review, but I reread it just now anyways. From that review, I gather that the JH11 is extremely close to the JH13. I hypothesize that the only noticeable differences would be their dynamic ranges and treble extensions. Being $250 less, I'd say it's a pretty nice deal.

I'll be ordering a pair of JH13's pretty soon and I'm wondering what an Ambient Vent is for? I assume that it's a vent to allow for some noise to get in. What benefits is this supposed to provide? Thank you.

Ladies and Gents, according to the JHA website, their JH11 model is now $850 - equal to the ES3X's price. That's $149 less than its former price, and $51 more than the JH10x3 for an extra bass driver.

I'm curious, has anyone emailed JHA to inquiry about the difference in SQ between their JH13 and JH10x3, or JH11? Obviously, there's no other way we can find out without owning both.

can anyone else expand on this? at $ 850 and an improvement on the ue11 these are squarely on my radar!

i would like to know which one of the two has more bass as im a basshead but i cant sacrifice the other parts of the spectrum

and if there is any differences like soundstage and imaging between the two.

thanks 3XO for the link, but i have already read that review and its conclusion that the jh11 is better than the ue11 is promising. The ue11 are very bass heavy and one reason i was interested in them in the first place

but my question is how the jh11 compares to the jh13.

I am 100000000000% percent sure the JH11 will satisfy you. My 10X3's hit so hard that it's on the UE11 level, but no doubtfully the 10X3 is a lot more controlled. So the JH11 i'm sure is going to be absolutely fine with you.

The ambient vent allows more surrounding noise in and is primarily for stage performers who want to hear audience interaction. If you have seen Metallica 'live' u will know what I mean.

hey all! like everyone on this thread, i'm super excited about the jh13pros. i'm ready to purchase these babies but something just hit me: will i really notice the difference? before you laugh too hard let me explain. i still consider myself a newbie to the audiophile world even tho i've owned the ultimate ears ue5c's for about 4 years now as well as my newly acquired shure srh 840 headphone. i'm really not sure if i can hear/notice all the details that people mention on their reviews about the highs, mids, speed, impact, etc. and since i'm jumping directly from my 5c's to these, i worried that i won't appreciate how good they sound since i didn't upgrade progressively and realize how much i'm missing. does that make sense? i'm concerned that these will just sound "clearer" than my current iem's.

i like thinking of the analogy of cars and how some teenagers get a bmw as their car vs someone's who's had that old clunker, upgrading to a used honda accord, then to an acura, and finally to a mercedes s550. the latter person appreciates the s550 more since they've gone thru the different cars and seen the positives and negatives vs the spoiled brat that won't know what they're missing since they already have one of the top cars.

so do you think that i will really notice that much of a difference in these even w/ my limited experience in audiophile sound??

thanks!

It all depends on a few things. What type of music do you listen to? What quality of recording? Amped/unamped? And what DAP/source?

If you're listening to music that is not recorded well, unamped, and at less than FLAC quality...then its debateable how much value you'd find in something like the JH13. If you have a quality recording, I think you'll be happy with the JH13s...they are very detailed, but not fatiguing, the soundstage is really large for an IEM...I hear sounds coming from what seems like behind me, at times. The slight bass boost is done really well and makes music more enjoyable. You'll probably notice this first when hearing them...it provides the impact of loud listening levels, but at lower levels without sounding boomy.

I'd say they're about twice as good as my ER4P I used to have...but with better comfort/build quality. Getting that much of an improvement over an already good IEM costs a lot unfortunately. When you hear these and go back to normal earbuds...it hits you how good they are, moreso than when you first hear them.
