Well, first you need access to Jerry's coterie of nubile young lasses. Then you need the wherewithal to use words like "coterie" unashamedly. Once you've got that, it's pretty much wash, rinse, repeat.

Really, though, the JH's were an investment of sorts for her. She has major problems with universal IEMs, but we travel a great deal, and she would really like to have something to isolate her from all of that. She tried someone else's customs that nearly fit her (amazingly) and she loved them, so she jumped on the opportunity to have some made by the master.

I can't wait for her to try them on

Her participation on Head-Fi is required after her JH5's arrival.

Love your signature rig, haha.

Thanks, that's my most enjoyable rig.

I am getting a pair of JH13 demos in the mail on Friday for the Houston meet... I cannot wait. I am already trying to decide which color to get.

When are you getting your JH13?

Well, the demos show up on Friday so I would say they will be ordered on Monday... haha. How long will it take to get an appointment at the audiologist?

Totally depends on the audiologist you visit. I suggest that you make an appointment for Friday evening. So assuming that your UPS/Fedex guy doesn't come too late on Friday, you can go right to an audiologist after you demo them. As a result, you can SHORTEN THE WAIT/ANTICIPATION TIME and avoid going insane like I am right now.

I thinking about purchasing a pair of these and I have a few questions. I've been reading the reviews and I get the impression that they are somewhat similar to the UM3X in that they are balanced and don't over emphasize the highs or lows too much. How are the highs compared to that of the UM3X and in terms of clarity and sound stage how does it compare with the UM3X? I like the more forward mid range of the UM3X so I'm wondering how big of a change in the sound signature I should be expecting.

The anticipation is half the fun.

Good question. Sherwood, could you tear the JH13 out of your ears for just long enough to take pictures?

Dear god man, do not ask the fellow to blaspheme like that! The 13s may as well be wedded to every owner's ears.

I'll be happy to crank out some glamour shots in the near future, fellows, but I'm not sure how illustrative they will be.

Both my wife and I got dark, solid colors. Muddy Water Blue for me, and Chirt (forest greenish) for her. The inner working are all but completely obscured. That being said, the fit on both pairs was 100% perfect, and the acrylic seems to be a totally uniform consistency with a glossy finish -- very nice.
