My foamies on my ER4P's and my E500's definitely block out much more airplane noise than my UE-10 and JH-13 customs. I am on planes 2-4 days/week.

A good way (for me, at least) to test out whether you have a good seal in both ears with a custom, is to talk with them on, and the music off, you will hear the difference if they are set right.

Do you do a twisting motion, from front to back, when inserting them? Don't just put them straight in.

I made a call to JH a few weeks ago and got a bad connection - so I cannot be sure of more than 50% of the content, but I think a few things got miscommunicated. Perhaps. I wasn't able to follow up either as my connection was bad.

not that i know of. again, the telephone call was pretty broken up. i'll find out. if it was my end... oh well, but otherwise, it is not as impressive looking an earphone (without my smoke and logo) next to the 350$ sleek audio ct6! for reviews... problematic

It is well known that Foam is generally better at blocking sound and isolating better than customs.

But foam takes significantly longer to achieve a proper seal, and can cause long term pain from the pressure of pushing on the inner ear.

I know I can't go back to using universals. I guess I got used to the pain. I've been without customs for a week, and I can't stand wearing IEM's for more than a few hours. Even my UE Triple.Fi's which were the most comfortable for me, caused aching in my ears.

Funny how you don't fully appreciate what you are missing until it's gone.

Talked to Jerry today.

Rather than rush the high end custom carry case, we're going to take our time and get it perfect.

In the meantime, Jerry liked immtbiker's Otterbox 1000 case, so he's making a Carbon Fiber case that is about that size. It will basically look like a smaller version of the existing big one. He is using the same company that makes the existing case to make this smaller version.

Should take about 3-4 weeks to get them produced. He will offer them up for sale to existing customers, and will be putting an option on the Order Form for picking Big Case or Small Case.

As for the High End Carry Case, it will likely only be included with Flagship products, namely the JH13. And will, of course be available for purchase separately. It will be significantly more expensive to produce. But trust me, it will be worth the wait.

The order form I got a couple weeks ago says the only cable option at this time is 48". I asked Brittany about it, and she said more options would be available in the future. Were any of you able to get a longer cable?

If there is one complaint that I can find with the JH-13, it's the cable.
It's way too short for most applications of portability and for home use.

Also, it's too thin (flimsy) and the memory slots are about half as short as they should be. It tangles easily when you coil it up (it's work every time I take it out of my Altoids tin).

I had gotten an extra one (longer version) for my UE-10's from Ultimate Ears in 2006, and after 3 days of frustration, I installed those on the 13's, in place of the OEM and what a measurable difference it is.

I can't detect any difference in sound quality.

On the listening front, an album that I really enjoy is Dream Theater's "Train of Thought". Yes...yes..I know. Many people here don't like Dream Theater. Anyway, I've never really been able to fully enjoy them on any of my headphones, just my speakers. And wow, on the 13's it is the best this album ever sounded. Ever. Usually Portnoy's drums, along with John Myungs' bass lines are usually so fast, they turn into mush. But the 13's speed, recovery, and instrumentation separation present this album with absolute clarity (as clear as an over compressed rock album gets, at least).

Can someone please tell me how long does it usually take for JH Audio to ship the JH13 from the date when they receive the ear impression?

I agree with you, Train Of Thought is very impressive on the JH13s.

Sorry - Been busy at work and listening to the JH13's through my iPod Video.

No regrets - Just great sounds.

Beware - listening to JH13s whilst driving an open top car gives you a dangerous feeling like you are within the soundtrack to a film. I didn't say it was a public road and I didn't say I condone it.

Many thanks to HPA for the review. I am about 20 pages behind on this thread. I owe Head-fi $10 for the review. Props to the pointer on Bella Sonus Enamoured : Enigma squared in my view. Good call.

As to UK being a safe place for your wallet - fraid not.

Haven't spent much time with any headphones other than JH13s for the last few weeks. Seems wrong using them for yard work, mowing etc. but they absolutely rock.
