I am having problems with my unmodified DT770Pro/250 and would like to try a DIY repair. I need your help on this!

The right ear can is not working anymore. Don't know what happened!

I have opened both cans and have tried looking for disconnected cables. All solder points looks good and solid and no cables are broken. I have also tried checking that the mini-plug is connected properly (tough to see since it is a proprietary, factory molded one). I have checked the impedance with a multimeter and measured 250 Ohms for both cans. I have tested the miniplug's 3 contact points with all the solder points in both cans with the multimeter and have gotten signal from all of them. Seems like something is up with the can or membrane itself. How can I further investigate what is wrong?

Thankful for you help on this! (I'd love it if someone hooked me up on skype and walked me through a proper troubleshoot - I am a beginner and probably do something wrong)

Since your driver dcr is measuring correct, pop your earpad off, and check to see if the driver diaphragm looks out of place. You should be able to gently move it back into the correct spot.

driver dcr?

earpad?

Are there any pictures around here that might explain what you mean cetoole? I took everything apart on my headphones that looks detachable. There is the membrane itself maybe that still is not detached and/or opened. Sits really tight, how can I get it it out?

Thanks for helping a newbie!

Ok, when you used your multimeter, you were measuring the correct resistance at DC, what you called impedance. This would indicate that there is neither a break or a short in the driver's voice coil, so there is something else causing you to get no sound. What I want you to do is to take the soft pad that goes around your ear off, which will allow you to see the face of the driver under a protective screen. What I expect you will see is that the driver on the side that doesnt work will be very visibly different than the other side, bulging out pressed against the plastic protective grill. I dont have any beyers (or indeed, dynamics), so I cant post photos of my own for you see.

Take photos and post them here is you have any issues.

Ive heard this happen a lot with the 770 (5 times that I have read and once experienced - which IMO is more than it should happen).
