I bought a used LISA III on the for sale forum a couple of months back. It was all and more than I had heard and expected. Luscious and rich, detailed and dynamic from top to bottom. I had it on a bedside stand and kept it plugged in to a Larraco power supply. Sublime.

But when I finally decided to take it portable it wounld't charge. Tried everything in coordination with Brad Taylor the owner of Triad Audio and we just couldn'l get it to work. Brad said "send it back to me and I'll take care of you." And take care of me he did. In spades.

Even though he fixed it, he offered to give me a brand new one if I chose. Then we talked further about how his values informs the way he runs his company. He's a people person and his goal is to make the highest quality product by working with people who both know and love what they are doing. After further discussion Brad gave me an amazing deal on the exact LISA of my dreams: A LISA III XP (extended play) Mahagony Woody. I got it in two days on his dime. He rushed delivered it to make me happy as he knew I'd been missing my music. It's a gorgeous work of art that Woody and as an extra added bonus , it plays music better than any amp I've heard portable or otherwise.

If you are looking for an amp that does all things and perfectly, consider the LISA lll. And know with great certainty that once you buy it you a getting not only great product but the honest and true ongoing support of Triad Audio as represented by Mr. Brad Taylor.

I am happy for you and thank God for good if not outstanding costumer
service! I am in the middle of the opposite in which the seller(ebay) maintains
the view that lost shipment(mail) falls upon the buyer to bear!? I dissagree.

Happy that you are happy....

WOW, Thanks for the kind words, I hope I can live up to it.. but just for clarity: it was an easy fix. The battery connection was pulled off. BE careful Changing Batteries!! So Lisa was as good as new, except for a minor scratch on the case which I would have given you a new one, and re anodized the existing. I am happy you choose the upgrade.. The woodies are gorgeous. and have been sitting on the shelf for eons . Only 2 left now. When they are gone .. there will be only eight in existence! All different!

^x2. I'd love a more portable sized amp with the quality of the Lisa III, if that's at all possible... it's only the size that puts me off it, tbh. But I'm sure a smaller package would compromise the quality, so, erm...

I like the size. it's so solid ad substantial. Looks great on a beside table or to use as my home amp with very good phones and high end audiophile source and speakers.

And I like it as a portable. I just put it in my briefcase and when I'm ready to listen I just take it out and out it on an platform I want. Desk, table, even at a booth a some fast food plalce (I had part of my work as a writer in Mikey Ds, I like the energy of people coming and going.)

Bottom line is I the factors of Tirad Audio's execellance and the slolid quality and beauty of the LISA outweigh any drawbacks because of size. Also I love the looks I get when people glance over and see the beauty of the Woody. If you've been on the fense ind terms of buy a LISA, jump over and get a Woody. They're beautiful and becomig an endangerd species.

Well yes there is a mini Lisa on the drawing board. mini input, gain switch, 2 X 9 volt under PCB with tiny surface mount parts. Will it affect SQ? Dunno? It is along way from the drawing board to production units available. (I may write a book someday) PPL designs are so complicated will it even work? Who is going to finance it? Me? I would have to sell a bunch more Lisa's..(& V-Codes & H-Codes (that arent even released yet!) Is there an Angel out there willing to take that risk? No prepayments for Any Triad products (for good reason..)

Two things: to the original topic I will concur that Triad has really exceptional customer service. Stuff happens, I need service occasionally for my gear. I've sent my Lisa in twice over the last 18 months, received a whole new unit the second time (no cost to me!). Communication, service work and dedication to my ultimate satisfaction were all as good as it gets.

Second, a "smaller" Lisa would be a dream! Mine sounds so good I'm inclined to say "it ain't broke, doesn't need fixing," but a more portable amp would be great. Put me on the wait list for the first one now!

every time someone posts something like the post above I have just sat there tapping my fingers. a while off yet though I imagine; certainly not worth putting of buying a fullsize one thats for sure; the sound is too good to ignore and lie in wait
