Evening everyone. I was wondering if I could bounce some ideas off of everyone.

Last semester I built a CMOY which is currently being housed in an old distortion pedal. I gutted the pedal and used it as an enclosure. It's time for a change, and I was going to build a nice wooden enclosure like zkool448's. I'm also planning on building an AMB DAC. I'm going to go without the USB option on the DAC since I only have two USB ports on my Macbook and don't want to spare one for the DAC. I'll stick with the optical or SPIDF from my Macbook. Anyway, long story short, I want to put the DAC and CMOY in the same enclosure and power them both from a power supply. One plug from the wall to the enclosure.

What would be the best way to supply the +- 9 volts for the CMOY, and the +5 volts for the DAC?

Also, I thought about just routing the analog out from the DAC right into the input of the amp, no external wiring. I'd lose the ability to use the DAC independently of the amp, but it would really clean up the front panel. What do you guys think, form or function?

You could just run the Cmoy on +/-5V (assuming you have an OPAMP capable of that, like the excellent OPA2227). You'd just need a TREAD (or similar) set to 10V with a TLE2426 rail splitter.

If you really want +/-9, I'm not sure this would be the best way SQ-wise, but here's what I'd do just because I'm familiar with these parts:

AC input to a full Tread, output 18V, TLE2426 rail splitter to create +/-9V from the 18V

Connect a second Tread without the bridge rectifier to the output of the rectifier (not the 18V output) on the first tread - this one set to 5V.

Like I said, I don't know a whole lot about this (or how much current that first bridge is capable of handling), but it seems like that would be pretty compact and usable.

Tridacnid is correct, that should work - the only reason I didn't suggest it is that most likely that 9V would come from a TLE2426 rail splitter, which isn't capable of supplying much current. So if you're trying to run the CMOY, linear regulator, and DAC off the 9V from the TLE, it might be too much and the TLE will become unbalanced.
