Hello

I am looking for some decent earbuds/IEMs. I'm no extreme audiophile, but I do appreciate a nice sound. Now, I tend to use my mp3player a lot at the gym so I was considering IEMs since the owner of the gym likes music that i can't stand.

I came across the SONY MDR-EX300sl. Is there anyone that can confirm that these will have good sound quality, and good bass? Since I'm a rock/metal - fan I really can't stand sound without bass.

Thanks!

I can confirm that they do have good SQ and good bass. Very comfortable with comply T400 tips. AC/DC's thunderstruck sound really good with these IEMs. Isolation isn't great and people will hear what your listening to when you turn it up.

Check it out on EBAY...I just got two pair for $4.80 each with FREE SHIPPING from a seller in Hong Kong...he has a feedback rating of 1136 and they were delivered via AIR MAIL in five days from when I paid him !! Not bad shipping time from Hong Kong to the U.S. I just went in to see if I could get more of them and he has jacked the price up to $12.80 a set with Free Shipping still. I don't know if I got the deal of the decade or he had made an error in his selling price, but still....at $12.80 a set...that is alot better than anyone in this post is talking about...so go get them...he has more than 10 available..so you can buy a bunch as gifts or get them for friends too..hope this helps out...I was just checking on a google search to find out if these mdr-ex300sl's were "worth" $4.80 as I didn't know much about them when I bought them...I merely wanted something with 3 different ear plug attachments for smaller ears...this is my first post..so I hope I helped you guys out.

That's just sad and disgraceful. These people would do anything for money, and the real victims are the people tricked into buying these thinking that they were legit

Compared the description of the ones I got from EBAY and they are "authentic" SONY as compared to the package at our local BestBuy; that little shiny SONY security tab on what seems to be authentic SONY packaging, along with a sticker advising these buds have a 2 month FREE WARRANTY at http:/www.sony.com.hk/MySony/.....so this is pretty sophisticated packaging, but at $4.80 a pair delivered they just might be a real good sophisticated knock off....they perform well...also, note that the link above does not say SONY in the description, so that is the first indication of a possible knock off. And my auction you can buy ONE PAIR not a wholesale lot. Any seller on EBAY that has over a thousand in his rating usually means he is legite. Read the feedback reviews on his many ratings and it doesn't seem like this guy is a rip off artist and alot of people are happy and convinced he is selling the real thing. CAVEAT EMPTOR !! and do your due diligence and you might find the real thing out there cheap in these hard worldwide economic times. Stores and vendors and people are dumping all their inventory at unbelievable prices these days !! I thought I should just let this forum know what I found out...take it or leave it. good luck !!

Just checked EBAY and a buy it now for $99.95 for Sony ex-500 with free shipping appears..the seller has a 12,109 rating and it says he has three pair available..I am not familiar with this model and don't know if this is a good price for you guys - I have been using EBAY for over ten years now and have always found the guys with high ratings cannot take the chance to rip you off and put their SELLING prowess in jeopardy....due diligence is the key..pay the guy via PayPal with a credit card and then if he rips you off and you can prove it, you can notify PayPal and your credit card company and get all your money back. The key is to read all the words in the ads, then send questions to the seller, and keep copies of all the correspondence. You just have to hunt for DEALS all over the world...check out some of the "deal websites" like: Best Deals, Freebies and Coupons Everyday! and Online Coupons | Cash Back - FatWallet.com. Hope this helps you out with your quest for low priced superior audio stuff.

This person is quite clearly the person selling clearly FAKE headphones.

He slips up in his post calling the eBay ad "my auction".

I don't think any Sony distributor, Hong Kong or elsewhere, is going to give warranty support on a COUNTERFEIT ITEM.

This is wrong on so many levels. Most buyers don't expect counterfeits, and sadly, may not even know the real thing, so they just assume it's authentic. Usually these people just leave good feedback if the package eventually arrives. This is not to say that sellers should carry all of the blame, but that's a whole different topic...

It's one thing if a seller doesn't know he/she is selling fakes, but it's utterly pathetic if the person is fully aware of it.

My Dear Mr. Akki007 - give me a break !! Are you kidding or what ? This is my first time on this website and I thought I explained CLEARLY how I even found out about it !! I AM NOT SELLING ANYTHING BUDDY....I am the "nice guy" trying to tell you of the deal I found on the ITEM that you guys have been chatting about. When I said "my auction"...I meant the auction post THAT I BID ON.....and it is for INDIVIDUAL SINGLE units...not a wholesale lot of 40 or 50 that was MENTIONED in the LINK the other guy provided. You really can't be serious about thinking it is ME who is selling anything and anythng fake for that matter ?? What don't you understand about what I wrote ? I am telling you what I GOT ON EBAY for $4.80 each !! I don't know what you are paying for any EARBUDS...I am just trying to be amicable and HELP YOU GUYS OUT !! You need to get a life and learn to communicate and correspond on forums such as these with a POSITIVE attitude and hope you learn something from what people are posting. I went to BestBuy with my wife to pick up an anniversary gift and brought my two Sony boxes with me and they look IDENTICAL to what they were selling at BEST BUY...and the kicker is...Best Buy was selling these sony 300's at $79.99 before tax !! So I think I got a really great deal and even at that new $12.80 price THAT GUY is charging on EBAY....check out HIS auction Item number: 280336970337 on EBAY United States....as I don't know where any of you guys on this forum are from. You need to become a more trusting and not so critical a person in your personal life. What a great welcome to this forum akki007 for a newbie like me.....I wonder if YOU ARE THE GUY THAT the link for the wholesale lot of 300's came from ? Boy, you can make anyone paranoid thinking everyone is out to rip you off. I have heard of Callaway golf clubs and other high priced sporting goods being made in the far east that are incredible knock offs and only the manufacturer could tell the difference after they SAWED THEM open and found they were knock offs. Remember...I just wanted ear buds that had three sizes of silicon inserts...period...finito....comprendo ? I am not trying to rip anyone off and just thought I would add my info to HELP YOU GUYS OUT...next thing I know you will start accusing me of running those two other sites I told you to check out for great deals on a whole lot of things - remember ? spoofee and fatwallet ? I got a brand new copy of Norton Internet Security 2009 and two other of THEIR security products for $70 bucks and got a $70 rebate..so all three were free ? Now...do you think I'm selling THAT STUFF too hear on a headphone/earphone forum. I accept your apology in advance and will consider you just mispoke and didn't realize what you were saying. I hope I have cleared up this matter and have helped you once again....do your due diligence and be hopeful we are not all getting ripped off on these low priced EBAY auctions.
