I just got a new 8gb ipod nano. I currently have a pair of Sennheiser HD280s, but I also want to get a pair of Grado SR60s. I've heard a lot of really good things about them, but would they make my ipod sound the best?

theres many more factors to include for u to know which one sounds "the best".

1. how much money do u want to spend?
2. what kind of music do u listen to?
3. do u want closed or open headphones?
4. what is the quality of the music u listen to? 320kbps? 192? flac?
5. do u mind cable length? have u looked into the comfort of the headphones?

after u answer those, we can only then help u further.

1. not more than $100.
2. heavy/thrash metal, rap
3. open. My HD280 are awkward to carry around and my ipod earbuds suck.
4. Varies from 128-320kbps. They are all mp3s.
5. I want it to be longer than the ipod earbuds, maybe 3 ft or so. I know the grado sr60s aren't the most comfortable headphones but they're supposed to be really good.

For your tastes, SR60 may not be the best idea since it will seem like it's lacking bass, especially when it is paired with already bass-weak Ipod.

I suggest Denon D1001, which is technically closed can, but sounds like an open one. Great bass and overall response with exceptional comfort.

If you want headphones under $100, I will second the D1001s for your type of music.
