Power conditioner or new Power cord

"You'll probably "choke" the sound because of it but it still might be the best option"

as long as your power conditioner passes a full 15 amps (or 20 amps in a 20 amp circuit) ..... there will be no "choking" of the sound.....

the Asylum Power Cable uses the Belden 19364 cable.

the Volex 17604 / 17605 (14 AWG) uses exactly the same cable and is $10. it just doesn't have quite the fancy terminations as the Asylum Power cable. you could buy better connectors and put them on the Volex yourself and save quite a bit of money.
or you could just try the stock Volex and see if you can hear a difference.

you can find the Volex 17605 (9 foot) here.

do a search http://www.audioasylum.com/audio/cables/bbs.html
for more info.

Good point. I could make 4' cords myself for $15.71 (plus shipping

) each with Schurter 4781.0100 and Pass & Seymour 5266-X from Newark.

Russ. You'll be surprised how much better a system can sound by removing the amplifier from being plugged into a power conditioner. There's not that many on the market that actually DOES make amps sound better.

howie...

i have my equipment plugged into a 20 amp surge-x power conditioner/surge protector....

and yes ...i have plugged my amp directly into the wall... no difference....

i am using a dynaco sca-35 tube amp with my klipsch klf-30 speakers....

i have no problem with the idea that power cords and power conditioners can improve the sound..... but there is much controversy surrounding both of these items....
