help me debate against this kid who thinks skull candies are comparable to Ue-11's.

although, he seems to be going for value here, not quality. and so you might try to argue a cheaper pair of buds with a greater price/performance ratio.

who cares? it doesn't really matter - the person who likes skull kandy does not care either. his only argument is that they are more worth the money. i happen to agree. for 50$, you would get far more the musical enjoyment per dollar than at 1500 you would get for the ue.
are the ue better, i don't think anyone is arguing that. are they worth 1500? that is in contention.

i would have to disagree about stupidity and ignorance. for instance, im sure that very few people have any knowledge of good bicycles in this forum: there are a few but really a few.
the others happily live without a bicycle or with a brand that i would never ride. does that do them harm? are they stupid? no, just ignorant or don't care. would a person who sometimes rides benefit from buying a top of the line cervelo? no. the same goes for headphones/earphones and speakers.
for what you use, you will find pleasure and pocket.

Ask him if he knows what sine waves are and how to properly EQ, and whether he knows what an amp does. It might make him realize that he doesn't know much at all.
