A nice 6SL7 with the adapter will certainly be next on my list.

You dont need an adapter to use a 6sl7.

Please try the ECC35 and Tungsol 6SU7GT, that makes significant difference  driving the LCD3.
Again as KingStyles has mentioned you don't need the adapter for ECC35 and 6SL7's
I am also trying the Tungsol = RCA 6C8G's. These tubes need adapters like those of 6F8G's.
they also drive the LCD3 very well but need more burn in time to know how much.

Thanks for the advice. I was confusing the 6SL7s with the 6F8Gs. I actually listened to some 6F8G, which did have an adapter. Let the tube shopping begin!

You will have to ask Craig.to be sure. It seems that they all have different specs and I am unsure if there has to be a mod or not. It is best if you ask him with the info on the one you want to buy.

I lost the bidding on the Sylvania VT 52.  Craig said that he may try the Sylvania VT52 in his 2a3/45 Balancing act
first using 5V filament voltage.  If they can work he will try that in the PX4/300B BA at 5V and will see any modification
needed.
I have acquired the Tungsol 6C8G's according to Craig's recommendation.   They can drive the LCD3 very well however
I still prefer the Tungsol 6F8G's and Tungsol 6SU7GT more.   They are cheaper so for those who don't want to spend
big bucks can use the 6C8G's.  I will have the Kenrad, National Union, Sylvania 6C8G's to try and will inform the result.  Each tube
cost around 17$ (excep the Tungsol) so they are very cheap comparing to the 6SN7's.

Craig has informed me about the VT52.  He has one NOS pair of Hytron VT52 and has modified the heater transformer to use the 7V as required by the VT52's.   They worked well and he will try in the BA today and he will report the result soon.  Here is the picture of the VT52 with amplifier.

The VT52 tubes came today, and I just finished the heater transformers that will drive them at 7V.

The C core transformers have more bandwidth, they go lower, and higher, more air, better bass.
I will send a picture of the C cores on the VT52 amp when it is running, hopefully later today

Here is the info later (today morning, Bangkok time)

The tubes work, and they are matched, I will try them in the BA tomorrow.

This is the info. that I got from Craig.
The C Core transformers that performs better will be used in the second run of the super7.  The price of the
second run of super7 is 500$ higher but it can use the 6SN7's, 6SL7's, 6C8G's and will use this new transformer.

Is it normal for a tube to make an audible 'tick' or 'ping' every 30-40 seconds or so during warm up? (I don't mean with my headphones on)

One of my PX4s has been doing this during warm up since I got it, but I never really thought much of it. It doesn't persist for more than 2 minutes or so.

Kiertijai, Thanks for the information.  I look forward to reading more imipressions of VT52 in BA and whether they will allow the BA to drive HE6 and K1000.

The sweet spot for the VT52 seems to be with 6V on the heater, 300V plate, and 35mA bias.
They are a very clear detailed listen. Nice deep sound stage. They lean way out at 5V on the heater,
and do not sound that good run on a lower heater voltage. Not recommended in the BA at 5V, but it won’t hurt anything to try them.
More info. on VT 52 with Balancing Act.  It seems that the BA may need modification for the optimal use of the VT52
I forgot to ask whether the VT52 will help driving the HE6 or AKG K1000
