Is it possible to mod Denon AH-P372's

all things are possible, but it's a matter of cost i guess. i don't think enough people bought the p372's to find out if it's possible to mod!

looks like we're the only two that have

What's your opinion on their performance?

Being a denon headphone and the fellow denon modle D1001 is also readily modded by members here i'd say its very plausible. I'd try and gently remove the ear cushions and see if you have any way to open the cups like screws ect. If yes then the mark mod and recable my be a fun project for you to pursue.

I was able to take them apart. I actually don't have to take the cushions off. I will post some pics later and let you guys tell me what to do & what size cable I should use.

modding this could be more DYI intensive than I first thought. Well the inside of the cups have a cross pattern in them, you could either sand them down so its smooth on the inside and then apply the dynamat to it or cut it into the cross pattern. There is a thread on the amazing mod here http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/how...0-mods-299627/

Here is a link of a recable of the D1001 a model very similare to yours
http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/rec...-d1000-353941/

These two threads should give you all the info you need shoot mark a PM if you need help with the headband part and good luck and happy listening buddy

I just got a pair and it is really easy to get them apart. Do you think a stock Senn cable from an HD580 would be a good upgrade or should I buy another cable and go custom?

I ordered some Magami W2893 cable and Neutrik plug and should get them re-cabled next week.

I think they are a very good sounding can. I like the sparkling highs and the bass extension is very good. I don't think the bass is too boomy, but it is present. I haven't heard any other Denons for comparison, but I don't think you would be disappointed.

How are they for isolation?

I'm trying to find my spl meter to give a number instead of just an opinion.
