i got these a couple weeks ago, very comfortable, but this is more a question of my ear. My right ear seems a little different with all IEM, as in the headphone doesnt seem to go in quite as far, almost like there is air in my ear or its unpressurized or something. has anybody heard of something like this happening before?

maybe your right ear is tighter and you need to put a smaller tip on the right earphone, theres no rule of thumb that says you should have the same sized tips on both earphones, aslong as you get a seal on both ears then there should be no problem, try this suggestion and let us know how it feels.

oh and open your mouth wide when inserting them, opens up your canals slightly enabling you to get deeper if required, if this dont help then pull the top of your ear upwards and then insert, this also opens up your canal a little.

if these suggestions dont help...then im sorry in ear canal phones are designed for human use and you dont seem to be eligable...

You may also want to make sure your ear canals are free of wax build up. Go get them flushed out.

X2!! I have had this problem many times and it seems to fix the fit problems each time.

Im the same way, i like the foam tips but after awhile they do hurt. The silicon tips even hurt. The best Shure tip for is the triple flange with the top cut off. This tip trimmed like this i can wear all day without any pain.

thanks for the replies, i will try it all.. no wax build up tho, and it does seem like i'm getting a good seal, but seems the headphone doesnt go as far in as the left canal.. sometimes, when a sound i know is panned 100% in the center, seems as its panned to the left a little bit, which would mean that the right ear isnt coming in as loud. very wierd situation i guess, as it only happens sometimes

I know that when i use the same size tips one will fall out over time while the other will stay put perfectly, so i have come to the conclusion that i do have a marked difference in ear canal size and also possible shape cause the iem will sit so much better in one ear than the other. thought i was the only one but sounds like others have experienced similar. Its no big deal just means i use a medium in one ear and maybe a large in the other

An additional memory wire will help on the fit by holding the IEM closer to your ear and reducing the strain caused by the weight of it.

I sealed them with hot glue so I can take them apart anytime... didn't notice the gap was increased a bit though, but after another look at the picture, ya, I should have pressed harder
