These above are the only two new records I have heard from them in years. When you think about it, it's a pretty competitive arena. Old bands like Exodus or Kreator are just soo good. Maybe a band like Overkill was something at one time but the bar has been raised today. Still around 2000 they had a cool innovative sound that no one had. I still listen to some of their stuff, but like you said they have never evolved farther or changed their sound. These posts here are pretty much the only reference to them in the whole thread. Just that in itself says something, because we talk about everything. Still I like that Necroshine song. It never gets old!

Any other  album recommendations for Overkill?

I'd say go here, still that's when I found them, the 1997-2000 era?

Some like the early stuff, some later, I'm the middle years. Brings back memories.

Probably I would suggest start with Necroshine if you were to get into that time of the band?

Edit:
Here is a better recording of Thunderhead. First one I posted sounded like cassette.

After recently stumbling upon Ghost Bath (which I will just blindly assume this whole thread already knows about), I've made it a small challenge this weekend to find some truly uncommon metal stuff. I think I've found something interesting, though I don't even know if it still counts as metal or already has its own subgenre:

Gosh, this thread moves fast!

I was checking out "Heavy Blog is Heavy's" top 50 of 2016 list, and they mentioned "Meta" by Car Bomb. They liken Car Bomb's sound to a beautiful combination of Gojira, Dillinger Escape Plan and Meshugga. It's definitely a good album if you like any of those bands.

So, what is everyone digging now?

The release date for Dimmu Borgir's live album Forces Of The Northern Night is finally confirmed: April 14th.

Gosh, this thread moves fast!

I've been bummed out about how slow it's been lately. Sometimes it will go for days with no updates. In the past, there have been plenty of times when it was on fire, with dozens of posts per day.
