A great progressive metal artist is Devin Townsend. He made allot of music and still is, he was the singer for the band he created Strapping Young Lad. Look up the song by him called, Jullar it is amazing, might not be very melodic but it has its times where it is. Its like a heavier dream theater. Also Gojira is another great progressive metal band. This band is more Black progressive metal than Devin Townsend but they are both amazing. They did a song together called Of Blood and Salt and it is one of my favorite songs ever.
