Is there any chance you could sample an ER4P/S for review? I'd be curious how you'd rate it relative to the other IEMs you've looked at. Sure, it was released a long time ago, but a lot of people still either using it or buying it new. Cheers.

I will, if I have the chance.

Apple

ClieOS:

thanks again for another great review on the Apple IEMS. My opinions about the Addiems is similar to your with the stock tips. BUT, and this is a huge but, they are a different animal altogether with Comply tips that came with the PFEs, I think they are T-100s.

With the Comply tips the sound signature turns into warm and full bass yet not particularly deep or defined, slightly recessed mids with decent depth, and smooth highs yet not too extended. Overall a decent balance. Gone is the cold analytical sound you mentioned. And for me they are a much better compromised sound signature than lots of much more expensive phones.

But you do have to find tips that you like. Unfortunately most will not bother, hence a good idea to keep that in mind when evaluating the reviews.

I am excited about possibly replacing the Addiems with Brainwaves Beta. My main complaint with the Addiems when used while biking and hiking is the microphonics. It is really pretty bad even with the Apple cable running down the inside of my shirt. Something about the short piece of wire that runs down from the ear hitting the body. And they will not stay in place worn over the ears, unless you don't move. The cable is too thick to say put and pops out.

Thanks again for another great review and keep them coming.

You are right. Foam tips does makes it sounds much warmer and more balanced than stock eartips. I am using a pair of mod'ed olive on mine, which is pretty similar to Comply except Comply usually sounds slightly smoother. However, when compare to my ER6i (which like any Ety, is neutral and analytical in nature), the foam tips still sounds fairly cold and more analytical, hence the review as such.

*cough* JVC/Victor HP-FX500 review wanted *cough*

Hi,
It would of been good to review the new sennheiser cx-300-II instead of the old model cx-300 to see how it compares with the others. The new one is certaintly better than the old model soundwise.
Cheers,
Steve.

Have seen the FX300 locally, but not the FX500. Local Senn has a price control over their dealers, so the MSRP is working against me
