Hey guys.

I have a hard time deciding right now.
I can get the Shure scl4 for 97.00 or the Shure scl3 for 60.00.

Do you believe it is worth the extra money? Are these good prices for these earphones?

I know the retail value of the scl4 is like 300 and the retail of the scl3 is like 150 so it seems logical that the scl4 is the better value but then again, i'm not too sure.

I will be using these primarily for my iPod and computer for music and movies. No amp either.

Let me know!

I had the e3c a year ago, I wasn't quite satisfied with it, I have the SE310 now, and it's equivalent to the scl4 - it sounds far better. You can't go wrong

Although an amp might benefit these two, I don't see it absolutely necessary. Only the top level Shure IEMs would need an amp to take full advantage of their quality. I use mine right out of the ipod, and I'm truly satisfied. Go for the scl4

I would say you'd probably be much better off with the SCL4. You'll not find a $100 IEM that matches it, or really even comes close.

Worth more than the pizza and case of beer the $37 might buy otherwise.

In all seriousness, yes, as far as my knowledge of the SCL3 vs. SCL4 goes. It's basically the difference between the SE210 and SE310, which is supposed to be fairly significant.

I'd say so. I own the E3c and at first they where wow to me, but after owning some cans and IEMs I wish I had gone to a e4c (I own the Klipsch x10 now), they felt very "tiny" to me.

But if you want an E3c PM me I am inclined to sell them.
