Love the USB card under windows XP, using foobar playing flac files sounded good and quiet. Now I have switched to Linux, and here the problem persist.

While playing music with several software (amarok, audacious) running in Ubuntu 8.1 and LinuxMint 6 distro it has annoying clicky sound (both mp3, and flac) like playing old LPs.

I have not been able to find the cure.

I plan to resurrect the old Chaintech AV710 and try it in Linux or buy a USB DAC that will work for good optical output to my stereo.

Would appreciate opinions on which USB solutions may work (have to have optical out) in Linux format.

thanks,

gychang
