Soon I am going to start getting my PCDPs repaired by an authorized Sony repair center. All of them are too old to qualify for the flat rate from Sony service centers. I have a D-311, D-211, and two D-321s in need of repair. Anyone else have experience with this? Any words of wisdom?

My greatest concern is that parts won't be available for these '92/'93 players or for whatever reason they won't be repairable. It should be interesting to get estimates for the ones that are. It looks like it's going to cost me $25/player to get a diagnosis/estimate. That seems pretty reasonable. It may not make sense to repair the D-321s though.

I don't seem to have much luck with these older players. My DAT players seem robust and reliable in comparison. I guess I am pretty rough on my players because I use them with a belt clip in a construction environment.

most parts seem to still be available for these players at PartSolvers.com... but they definetly are NOT cheap...

as an example... $120+ for the D311 remote... ho-hum
