I have a question, how do the shure SCL3 compare to the shure SCl4 - is it worth the extra $20? AND, how do they both compare to Altec Lansing IM616s? Thanks

Shures, are shures. Nothing extremely amazing. I'd go for ety's in that price range.

Owned the SCL4s for quite some time - definitely enjoyed them and considering that price range I'd jump on it... From what I've heard the $20 difference would be worth it - buying you much better bass etc.

Zhdude - stacked up against the SCL4s in that price range I can't say that I've heard of any Etys that would compare? Maybe I'm very wrong/personally biased given previous ownership/not fan of the Ety sound signature...

scl3(e3) is too pronounced on midrange, so bass and highs, comparing to mids, seems lifeless and recessed to me.

scl4 is considerably superior than scl3 in those two categories. and is way more balanced.
overall, e4 is a more decent pair of IEM, and surely worth the little extra

Does anybody know where to pick up the SCL4 in Canada? Because I definitely think the SCL4 is worth the extra $20 but I can't find any place that would ship them to Canada!

It seems the SCL4 is sold out online, and the three stores near my house all said they were sold out also.

If you're looking to get the SCL4s, you better get on it before they're all sold out everywhere!

Doubt the U.S-based sites selling the white SLC4s for $79 are selling fakes, since they are also selling the black ones for $249. I would agree if it was ebay or a Chinese-based site. In fact, some of the posters got them at the stores. Anyone who got them want to comment on their authenticity?

Oh, and the deal wasn't expired, they are just backordered (the $79 SLC4s, that is), and Guitar Center, where I ordered mine, says they will be getting more from Shure. I can wait. Curious to hear them, since I never owned a pair of Shures before. If they don't deliver, nothing out of pocket. So no loss.

The SCL4's in white I picked at a Guitar Center near me are real for $79 + sales tax. They happened to have both the white SCL4 and SCL3 in stock by me. I would call before you make a trip. They did hold the pair for me. I also placed an order for a spare pair at Musciansfriend.com (Guitar Center's online store) with 2 Sony earbuds and a Harmonica keychain for free, no sales tax and shipped free. I used a $20 off coupon code for spending $100 there. However, it seemed they pulled the online SCL4 deal now and I also have to wait on them (end of December) for shipping. The other items are already shipped. However, the deal is still alive for the white SCL3's with wait.

I see the deal is still currently available (again) at Musiciansfriend.com for both the scl3 and scl4. Unfortunately, it looks like there are International shipping restrictions in place so they won't process my checkout because I'm in canada
