What I'm actually driving at his... ever since I've owned a P-51 and ESW10, I found that I've somewhat abandoned my ER4P/S for awhile. I tried going back to them today but I somewhat missed the bass punch from the ESW10.

My ER4P/S are relatively old and I've not kept myself updated on other brands. But what I miss about having an IEM is the Isolation which the ESW10 lacks when I'm on the go. I'm also not keen on traveling abroad with the ESW10 because they're way too precious and attention seeking.

So my question is, are there any other newer IEMs that can sound somewhat like the ER4 for clarity and still have more bass punch? I've seen afew newer ones like the IE8, SA6, etc. Anyone who actualy owns or tried them as well as the ER4s to share about their experiences? Any input will be appreciated. Thanks alot!

I haven't tried the ER4s, so I can't give you a conclusion on the comparison with the Westone 3s, but I would like to throw the Westone 3s out as another potential IEM for you.

From what I've read on these boards, the IE8 don't give very great isolation.

Hey thanks for your input. I'm pretty sure there is a W3 for me to sample at my local retailer but I did not really like the UM1 which I sold 3 years ago, and the UM2, thus my ER6i and ER4P/S.

I'm not sure how the 3s will sound but I will take some time off to try them. I kinda like how the IE8 looks but I'm not sure about them. I just love my ESW10 but Isolation is not there.

Wondering if APS cables will help in that department...

I'm glad you really like the EWS10. I'm thinking of busting out my wallet and getting me a pair of those T.T

The ESW10s are really worth it. It's my first pair of headphones and it's easily my most expensive piece. If you can afford to you should try them out.

audio technica ck10 has similar clarity as the er4s and more bass however it is not a heavy bass. it isolates about as well as westone um2 when using the right tips but with the provided silicon is not very isolating.

it is tiny and indestructable. very well made - highest manufacturing quality i have seen in any iem, full stop.

I'm sorry for not making myself clear. As for the cable part, I was referring to pronouncing the bass...

^ amp would have far more effect of SQ than cables - try to look for a bottom heavy amp in your case?

The APS cable will help to improve the low end of the ER4, giving more weight to it but don't expect them to have quantity. It also adds more dynamic to the ER4 sound signature, making it more "fun" to listen too unlike the stock.
