Hi folks, been lurking and now thought I'd post.

Been using this Silverkey Audio amp for some months now. I have to say very impressed with it. Adds so much more oomph to the sound when used with pretty much anything that puts out an audio signal.

The amp has a Burr-Brown OPA2227 opamp and it really shines. I was pretty impressed with the neatness of the build too. Works a treat with my Zune or with my Creative T20 speakers through the HOs.

Was purchased through Ebay. Reached the UK in good time.

I bought it a few months ago I cant remember exactly but it was in the $40 range. As it was my 'first one' I didnt want to go too crazy.

The connector cable came from a Canadian supplier for around $10.

Well I'd hardly call one item of negative topping off 116 very positives as discouraging.

Plus if you read the other guys feedback you'll see that he was actually fully refunded and a problem was apologised for.

Anyone who has sold stuff on Ebay knows you can come across a wierdo/snafu at any point.

I'd buy again if he came back with more stock. Cant say fairer than that.

Fair enough - I was just thinking that's an odd way to go silent for 3 months. I do agree that's a good looking amp!

Yeah I know what you mean. I see that a lot with folks that supply hand made stuff though. I guess they go away make a batch of 30+ and then put them up for sale. Once all gone, shop goes down, make some more.....

Maybe even do a yearly refresh of the models?

I must admit whilst its my first amp I did look and search for what I felt was right. My criteria after looking at several was -

OPA2227 OPamp
Custom PCB
Neatness of internals
No flick switches
No mint tin (I just like plain)

This one met the criteria and wasnt expensive. When my GF saw me using it she rolled her eyes but I then plugged it into her Zen Micro and let her try it.

Her reaction was "WOW...this is really nice...I wouldnt be able to hear the others in the office talking with this!"

Bless!

Let me first assure you that Silver Key Audio is a great guy to do business with.

He built me a PPAv2 amp very similar to MisterX's amp which I still use to this day.

Let me just say his customer service is one of the best I had ever experienced. He always gave my updates when he was building the amp for me. He would also ask which Opamp I would prefer which was kind of unusual because he generally used his stock opamps already provided for him. Basically, he would cover any extra expenses that generally he would not cover.

His negative feedback was completely unwarranted yet he still refunded the payment. Amazing guy to deal with. I feel very sorry for him with that negative feedback. He deserves better than that.

If anyone is interested in buying a high quality PPAv2 amp, send him a message, he might still be making them. His amps not only look good but sound excellent.

Sorry for hijacking this thread but I just had to get this off of my chest.
