Jeff,

Listen first, evaluate later. If it sounds good TO YOU, keep it and stick with it. If you don't like it, come ask for some advice and we'll try to point you in the right direction without costing you an arm and a leg.

Hm, the problem is, I only have the first two components available at this moment (meta42 coming shortly). My last purchase would be the audio-technicas (probably w1000).

Thanks for quick response though.

I had the W1000s for about a day before I sold them. They hit my ears wrong and were very uncomfortable to me. If you have big ears they might not be for you. If you don't mind a little bit on the huge side, why not try the Sony CD3000? I run mine with a Creek OBH-11 and they sound quite good together. Easy to drive to high volume, incredible soundstage, and awesome all-around sound.

Try the search function for each of the components that you've listed in the appropriate forum. There's a wealth of information available. There’s too much information to relate in a single post. Do some research, become an informed consumer. Also check what people are saying against their profile to see where they're coming from, do they even have the gear. Lots of people list what they’ve owned so you can see if it’s an opinion or experience talking.

Good Luck

Mitch
