Battle of the Big Ones!

i have owned both rs-1 and hd600 and i liked the rs-1 a lot better. i don't like the k1000 at all.

if i had to choose of these three, the rs-1 would be the only one i could live with. it also seems to be the most expensive.. but i think it's worth it, especially for the used prices.

The RS-1 sounded more intimate and aggressive than the HD600 but was ultimately more fatiguing and I didn't like it as much overall.

The K-1000 was absolutely beautiful, tight, and focused! I loved the sound of the phones! If I was going for gaming I would side with K-1000s over HD-600s.

The HD-600 has the fastest sound of all of the headphones I have ever heard before. It has good imaging (not as good as K-1000s!), a full frequency response (deeper bass than K1000) and a really sweet extended smooth treble and liquid natural sound.

Overall the HD-600 is the winner, but it's really close between the 600s and the K-1000. It really would depend on other factors such as who I was living with (due to extra leakage of K-1000) and the associated equipment.

This poll should also add the DT880 imho. I found it to be in between RS-1 and HD600 presentation and almost as focused as the HD-600.

Cheers,
Geek

It would be much more fair if you put HD 600 + equinox or cardas compared to the prices of the two others. Anyway I am a HD 600 man right now although I haven't tried the two other cans, if the RS1 sounds anywhere similar to the SR-325 I wouldn't bother auditioning it (except for electronic, drum n bass etc..).

I have -- and will be keeping -- both the HD600 and the K1000, so I vote RS1, only because I don't already have them. However, since I don't think that is the point of this poll, I won't really vote.

PS With or without the comfy pads mod?
