hi,
i was just at a meet and was suprised to find my pk2's and 3's provided more enjoyment and better sound than the full size headphones starting from 100-1000 dollars, not to mention the amps that went with them! i even got funny looks when i offered them for a listen.

i'm only using my 1g shuffle/3g nano and pk2 and 3. pk2 sound better WITHOUT an amp!
everyone at work and my friends want a set of pk3's when i give them a listen.
i owned the allesandro ms1 and returned them. pk3 was better.

i am also looking to get the pk1 with a cheap amp just for around home.

i might be one of the lucky ones who have stumbled on to these first without spending so much money on other gear? the meet only helped confirm this.

happy listening,

are you a shill for yuin or something? or just a fanboy? i think the ety er4s are the cleanest sounding most detailed fone of anything i've ever heard including speakers and i am selling them because i dont like the presentation and having things stuck in my ear is just not cool with me. so it's a bit difficult to fathom preferring it over a normal set of fones let alone earbuds...

and to claim that it sounds better without an amp is absurd unless the amp flavors in a way you dislike or something wrong with it.

What I don't get is why Panda took personal offense to the OP for some reason... ??

And to answer the thread title question: No. Partly because I don't own any full size phones yet, and partly because I haven't heard Yuin stuff.

The thread title in all caps and unnecessarily long didn't clue you in?

man that's funny, no i don't work for yuin or sell anything, and i said HEADPHONES not iem, never heard em, read the post.
many people favour their yuins over their headphones, read the appreciation thread.

i said the pk2 didn't improve with amp. pk1 different story.

you even contradict yourself a little by saying how good they are, then sell them. i won't comment on stuff i never heard and i've heard heaps of headphones and amps!

I usually prefer my Denon D1001's to my PK1's, out of an iBasso D2 Boa. The low bass is where it's at for me

I do have both the PK2 and PK3. No point getting into a debate about amplification and how it affects SQ, let's just say that IMHO a portable amp does improve the SQ.

However, your assertion that these ear buds have better SQ than all headphones between 100-1000 is simply absurd. I sincerely doubt that they sound better than any .... but they certainly sound like crap compared to the headphones I have listened to and/or own. That's why you got funny looks when you offered them for a listen. Like most here, I don't base my opinion of a headphone on cost, but rather on SQ.

Enjoy your Yuins. Maybe they will be all you need to satisfy yourself. But there is not just better, there is much much better out there.

I guess I just forgot that people let things bother them by reacting emotionally rather than choosing not to...

Yeah, I use my Yuins more than my Grados, but mostly for comfort and ease of use. I still think my Grados sound better.

But I am looking forward to getting some PK1's eventually with a nice amp.

My PK3s remind me a lot of my AKG K24Ps (some cicumaural cheapo phone). Good, but that's it. I don't use them very much for several reasons: my RE2s sound better (bass quality), albeit they're not as comfortable for longer listening; they don't stay in my ears: they will slide out sooner or later; and lastly, they do not beat my home system (either my stereo or my 'rig' with my K600, i.e. K500 with K601 pads). - Overall, I almost feel like I wasted my money on them. I have no use for them.
BTW, you can easily change the thread title: just double click in the same line without clicking on the title itself.

If you favor yuins over fullsized headphones of the same price, you either have poor value headphones, a unique sound signature taste, or poor perception of sound quality. That's all there is to it. As for what panda said about the ER 4, if you weren't a selective reader you would see that he explained exactly why he is selling them.
