Got myself a used pair of Sennheiser IE8 !!
size]

Man, they are AMAZING

Just one slight problem : the nozzle of the right earbud comes off, but I have contacted Sennheiser and they have agreed to put in a new nozzle and repair it...
Although, they lack the clarity and separation of UE TF10, but the Bass .... ohh man, it's so deep and impactful...

Could someone recommend eartips for them?? The stock ones are bad, and even the ones supplied with TF10 do not seem to fit properly.
I am thinking about getting the Monster Gel and Foam Supertips... Has anyone tried them with their IE8??

Is there any reliable place I can buy these online or in NYC? I thought I got fakes from an Amazon seller and returned them. It's getting harder to find the old IE8 since everyone seems to have the new version only...

I don't think there are any "genuine" IE8 left in the market !!
I have been trying to find a new pair for the past two months, without any success... Finally ended up buying a used pair, which is definitely genuine

A question for the users who have had both IE8 and IE8i versions.  I understand from reading this thread that both are the same units, however I wanted to know if the cable differentiate in sound?
I saw an amazon review where a buyer said his IE8i's have a lot less bass than the original IE8.  Is this how it's supposed to be? Or is his unit a fake or defective?  I haven't heard either of them yet and wanted to know before I purchased these.
Thank you

My IE8's I bought from play.com for £180 back in 2009 are still going strong.

I've had one of the pods break off the ear bud but I simply glued it back in place, I also bought a hand made silver cable when the stock one broke about a year ago and my advice would be to just buy another stock cable as this silver one has broke a couple of times which I guess is to be expected due to it being hand made in china.

I was just wondering if these are still regarded as one of the best in ear's in today's market ?

If I was going out to buy another pair of IEM's today my budget would be £200 max.

Same here, I just checked my Amazon receipt and I got mine May 2009, still going strong although I had to buy a cable last month as the left ear had started to go quiet. I've often wondered what IEM's would be comparable for around £200 and wether I would end up being disappointed as I enjoy the ie8's so much.

Rockboxing my iPod and running it through a fii0 E11 is the best thing I did for these!!

Your obvious next step would be IE80's. That's what I did and I was glad. You definitely won't be disappointed.

Hey, what cable did you purchase for the ie8? I would like to know which to avoid when I purchase mine.

I know the difference between the sennheiser ir80 and ie8i is that the ie8i got a mic. I have confirmed that by sennheiser but is that real? The price difference is 50 €

Many HeadFiers say the IE80 sounds different than the IE8. I have not read any posts here on HeadFi that say they sound the same. Which one you prefer is up to you. I have owned both and I prefer the IE80. Why? Less mid bass, more mids and highs.

The IE8i cable is interchangeable with the IE80 cable. Also many cable sellers on eBay offer microphone upgrade cables for the IE8 and 80 so you can add the mic feature to either one.

well i am confused now beause sennheiser the only difference is the mic option. Well i like bass and my main music genre is rap,hip hop and techno. I am actually waitig for my sennheiser ie8i to arrive and i am not going to use the mic option but now i am bt confused if i will exhange it with the ie80 or not
