Yes, a full shell remold!

Contact Sam from Unique Melody. His email is Kabang567@hotmail.com. The english version of the website is not up to date and be patient. English communication sometimes can be painful with others but I personally haven't had an issue. He usually responds to the emails within a couple of days. Also check out the Unique Melody appreciation thread for more info.

After treating them with great care for the past year today I accidentally dropped them into my bathroom sink when it was full of water while trying to juggle too many things at once.

After about six hours the IEM's sound the same as before but I would just like to ask whether they will be okay or have I now set them on the road to ruin.

Thank You.

At ~$324 shipped, it's a much better price than Amazon, that's selling them for ~$375 shipped. Of course, I don't mind paying more if that means better customer service if something goes wrong, or for sure if it'll be getting authentic IE8's vs. fake ones. lol.

This is the buy.com link below:

Sennheiser IE 8 Stereo Earphone - IE8 - Buy.com

I haven't bought IE8s from buy.com but they're not listed on Sennheiser's authorized dealer list (Sennheiser USA Dealer Locator - Authorized Online Headphones/Headsets Dealers). Buy.com is generally a reputable and reliable site, though.

$324 is not bad but AValive.com (who claim to be an authorized Sennheiser dealer but also aren't listed on Sennheiser's site) is selling them for $283. You have to click on the "send me your best price" link.

BTW, why is it so difficult to determine who is an authorized Senn dealer? They have a huge "nonauthorized dealers" list and a tiny online authorized dealers list. But what if the retailer isn't on either list?

I'm still holding out for a sub-$250 sale from an authorized seller...I feel like it has to be coming soon, right? I'm hoping someone like earphonesolutions will step up!

To be honest they weren't submerged in the water, just floating on top. Wasn't too sure though. Still I may replace them under warranty to be sure.

Thanks For The Help.

I use the UE tips too for the ie8. Great seal everytime and I've found them best for getting the full spectrum of sound of the iem. The large double flange tips would be second. I'm at about 100 burn-in hours now and loving the ie8s.
