Speaking of Laurie Anderson -- if she would release the material from her current tour "Happiness" as a CD, all the insomniacs in the world would rejoice: I saw her this Feburary, and I bet at least half the concert hall were asleep.

I enjoyed her presentation though.

i used to religiously listen to portishead and karate before sleeping every night. jack johnson is a current favorite that crops up at any time, as well as some of massive attack's albums. "this is a long drive.." by modest mouse is a good one too. the dave brubeck quartet is super relaxing as well. so in summary, anyone who's looking for a nice night of sleep should check out:

portishead - roseland nyc live
karate - the bed is in the ocean
massive attack - protection
dave brubeck quartet - live at carnegie hall

gridlock, trace

rapoon, the fires of the borderlands

shuttle358, frame

scorn, gyral

way too many to list, really...but those are the ones that came to mind right away.
