Today I finally had all the pieces together: pcdp, Grado 325's with a new heavy duty cord terminated with a mini jack, and last but not least a new portable amp! The amp is courtesy of an established member here, who would rather not get besiged with requests so I'll not mention him by name. It uses 2 9v batteries and looks quite the business under the hood. I wish I knew more about electronics and such so I could appreciate more the design that went into it, but for now I'm just off to give it a days worth of listening.

The carry case has zipper pockets on each side; one is loaded with 2 new copper top 9v's and the other has new AA's. There are two main compartments, and they are padded. One for the player and one for the amp. Yes!

Thanks for the pic of your rig! Looks good.

What carry case is that exactly? Does that strap go around your body or is it a fanny pack type thing? got a URL for it or did you get it locally?

Thanks,
Jeff

Very interesting amp. Since you aren't going to give the name of who made it could you at least tell us the details? How much did you pay? Or possibly the person who made it could contact me personally I'm very curious. Thanks.

Thanks!

The Case: its just a generic Case Logic, they are available nearly everywhere, even Pakistan probably. This particular one cost less than $20, but its well designed, especially for how I use it.

The Amp: I'll make a separate post about it tonight, with more pictures. After listening to it for about 4 hours today I know it *deserves* a separate post. Whew, what an amp!

Great looking set-up, M! I also use a Case Logic bag for my portable rig.........the amp goes in the front pouch and I cut a hole for the interconnect betwEen that pouch and the part where the CDP goes. The rear partition stores about 3 CDs in their cases. Works great.........but my CDP is not color coordinated with my amp, as your is.

I wanted to thank you for the tip, it speeded up perfecting the way I have everything organized. Using a soldering iron I burned holes into the case and now everything is much much more tidy. The hot iron melts the synthetic material Case Logic uses and that means the resulting hole won't run or get bigger. Its a relief to have everything come together: cdp, amp, mini-plug on the 325's, and the case. As far as portable CD sound goes, I'm finally as 'Delta-Force' as I ever wanted to be. Well for now anyway.
