Hi guys,

I've been moved onto a dumb terminal environment at work, so I am now using my Samsung T10 8GB mp3 player as my audio source. Plugged in to my iBasso D2 Boa, it's not too bad, however, it doesn't have quite as much crispness as I would like. Also, I wouldn't mind being able to store and play my 100GB FLAC collection... (well, in theory, I might need only 40GB or so of it).

So the question is... Should I get a 4G eeePC for AU$300 (US$250) and use the D2 Boa as the DAC and a USB hard disk for storage... Or should I buy a new DAP with better quality and more storage space?

Or is there some other mythical stand-alone lossless playing device with decent audio quality I could stick on my desk at work?

well.. if you're in an office environment.. then go for it. DAP's are usually for portable "on the bus" type situations..

the boa's dac is very good as i assumed you already tested it with your computer.

I would get a netbook with :
a SSD HD and that has 2 sd slots (so you can put 2 16gig sdhc cards for more memory)

or

A 80 or 120 gig 2.5 inch hd.

That's what i'm going to do when i get some closed headphones and a netbook for my studying in the library's. I'll leave IEM's to my DAP.
