Lowly USB cord

Thread Starter
Seems there just isn't much information available on the lowly USB connector (computer to DAC). I take this to mean that most consider one USB cord the same as any other. BUT this seems to defy the head-fi tradition of tweaking every link in one's system. We seem to have all kinds of opinion about power cords and connectors.

Sooooo....are all USB connectors alike?

Yes. A bit is a bit.

Until we see USB connectors sold commonly like TRS plugs, etc, we are not going to see much of a revolution in the USB cable world.

I'm sure there's a solid gold one out there somewhere if you need one...

I felt the same way and have been reading all over that they can make a difference. Just cant make myself pay 80 to 500 for a USB cable.

(meaning the cable is within spec)

I assume there are higher-quality usb cables that exceed the specifications that will hold up more reliably where you're using longer lengths, and in more noisy areas.
