They're under burn-in process right now (6 hours so far). How long should i keep them burning in? I own Creative Jukebox 3 and the volume is set to 22 (i usually listen to music with volume set to 21 (max volume is 25)). Honestly, I expected to have more bass...maybe because i'm used to listen to music with my Teac stereo and my Sony subwoofer...

You want... m-m-m-more bass?

I think that that subwoofer of yours has been doing bad things to your mind

leave the sub off for a few days... listen to the Koss'... and then switch the sub back on... see if it still sounds as good

I used to love my klipsch sub...
but nowadays, even with my friend's altec sub.. it is unbearably overblown. The bass is too flabby, loose and exaggerated. I need to turn it down. It's because most hi fi headphones(talk about 770) provide good quality bass, as opposed to quantity, in those cheaper subs :p

just give your koss another 3 days or so burn in time. Then listen to them again. For the price, the koss is a fanatastic headphone

Three whole days? You mean that i should keep them playing music for 72 hours? What if i stop it and then start playing again tomorrow? Is it the same thing?

Mine seemed to settle in completely after about 24 hours of use/burn in. I would not expect a tremendous change in the sound. What you hear after burn in IMO with headphones is very subtle.

tell this to the w100/w1000 owner and they will tell you that their headphone sounded like a diff beast bef/after burn in

I think he was referring to the ksc-35s, which do not change as significantly as other headphones with burn-in.

I agree, the Kosses don't seem to change too much due to burn-in. Other phones can take much longer to warm up though and do need burn-in...

I'd say keep burning them in. Also, the bass on the Kosses is pretty overwhelming in comparison to the rest of the sound spectrum. Headphones aren't supposed to be subwoofers, and you'll notice that most headphones have much less bass than the Kosses, unless you go with closed cans.

I too have to turn the bass down on my Klipsches. Otherwise it just dominates the music, and that's no fun.

I have to turn on the eq on my Nomad Jukebox 3 and raise the bass frequency from zero to +4 to have a fair bass response. But after doing this, these phones rock!!

I disagree on the KSC-35 being insensitive to burn in -- maybe it was a pyschological thing (but, hey, that's probably what burn-in is anyway), but the -35 sounded unbearably dark when I first put them on. They're still way on the dark side of neutral, but I can sort of listen to and enjoy them now.

Instead of turning on that ****ty equilizer, why not turn it off and fix your perception of what good bass really is? Seriously, I'm not sure I have ever heard of anyone not feeling that the KSC35 had plenty of bass on its own. You seem to be the type who likes boomy overblown bass, which is fine if you realize that this is the type of bass you like. However, you should at least give yourself the chance to hear some better quality bass before you blame the KSC35 for not being as crappy as you are used to.

BTW. I was like you when I first got the KSC35. At that point, turning off bass boost never even seemed like an option. Then I got my Etys and did some research and everyone said not to use bass boost. I resolved not to turn up the bass, and I listened to them for about a month without bass boost. I kept having this nagging thought that there wasn't enough bass, so I went back and turned on bass boost. Fortunately, my ears knew immediately that bass boost totally ruined the music, and I was cured for good. After that, I went back to the KSC35 and to this day I don't understand how I ever managed to listen to them with bass boost, they just don't need it. Give them a try for a while without bass boost. You will probably find yourself thinking they don't have enough bass right up until you turn the bass boost back on, then you will see the light.

I don't like boomy bass, but i like present and punchy bass. I simply think that ksc-35 are good straight out of the box, but they're perfect with +4 bass boost.

Sorry for my momentary lapse in grammar and correct sentence structure

. I should of more correctly said ......IMO with "these" headphones. My comment was referring to the subtle changes I noted in the 35's, 50's and Porta Pros that I have.
