Would I benefit at all from using a product such as the Total Airhead, IF I connected it into my headphone output on my receiver?

I have all my source material being fed into the receiver, and I currently use the receivers headphone output, which provides decent sq, minus bass response.

So, I'm looking for inexpensive options. Would this be an incorrect way of doing things, since I'm not eliminating the inferior link in the chain (receiver's HP section)?

Would I notice a larger increase in sq if I connected the Total Airhead directly to my PC's line out, opposed to the receiver?

MY HP's are the Denon AH-D1001K's.

Any other options or suggestions under $200 for improved bass response/sq?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry for being a HP noob...

The best way to use your Airhead with receiver would be to connect using a line level RCA output. You would need an RCA(L&R) to stereo mini plug cable. This would of course bypass the HP jack. Using the Airhead with PC would be good too if it does in fact have a "line out" and not simply a HP out.

After doing further HP research, I stumbled across the Zero DAC/Amp.

Would this be a good solution for me?

It is in the price range I am looking for. I noticed it has optical/coax input.

Would I simply use my optical output on my Onkyo 805 to feed the Zero, or would I be better off feeding optical through a selector, coming from my PC, going to the selector and then to the receiver/Zero?
