Anyone like fast cars?

Yeah, fast cars are great! I wish I had a Lotus Exige as well.... one can only wish... or save for a long time.....
If you want fast though... a motorcycle will get you there much faster...
for a lot less money...... unfortunately, I sold mine recently...... probably better off... I'm sure I would have gotten a ticket sooner or.....

Ive driven the Exige....was not overly impressed on the street. There were too many compromises for weight to be a daily drive IMHO.

Is there any way to fix or replace the shifters in the manual Miatas? I drove one a few years back, and I'll be damned if I wasn't worried about snapping that damned stick off the first time I shifted. Sure as hell isn't anything like a T-56...

The miata trannys shift like butter there should be no real need for force to get through the gears. Even driving hard i can quickly get from one gear to the next with just a flick on a few fingers. If they had a short shift kit in there (Useless in miatas) that lowered the fulcrum point then it should have shifted very easily.

Not force so much, but I found it impossible to speed shift when I have to slow down my shifts to make sure I don't rip the stick out. When I speed shift in my T/A, my buddy has said it's like I'm trying to rip the transmission through the floorpan. You can shift a hell of a lot quicker if you just rip through the gears without trying to shift without using a lot of force.

It wasn't that it was hard to shift or get through the gears - it was actually quite light, and easy, as long as I wasn't trying to shift fast - but it just felt like the stick was very, very fragile. Sort of like trying to stir soup using a piece of rubber spaghetti. I'm just sort of used to the notchy, solid feel of the T-56, I guess. I've got an aftermarket short-shifter and an even shorter stick in my car, which gives it an even stronger feel.

Eh the shift lever is made out of a millet either steel or alum. It is hella sturdy. The miata tranny was never made to be power shifted it was a track/auto x car not a 1/4th mile car. and yeah a T56 with a raised Fulcrum must take a re-tarded amount of force to shift.

Eh, I don't know. Might be because I'm used to the T-56, but it just felt really....sort of spongy and floppy to me. Almost like if I shifted too hard, I'd bend the stick.

The T-56 actually doesn't take a whole hell of a lot of pressure to shift (really varies depending on your speed and rpm), although occasionally getting it into gear if you pop into neutral and coast to a stop is a pain in the ass. It's not a silky-smooth trans, but I sort of like the notchiness as I know for sure when I have positive gear engagement when I'm just cruising, and it's pretty damned stout.

I'm really liking the new T-6060, though.
