Not to offend, but the OP only put these settings up for the A-72X/82X series. Not the S61X/A81X series - I did that to see if it might assist w/any settings that Sony may have hidden on those models. The SQ on the S61X/A81X models is a bit better and doesn't need as much adjustment IMO. I had a S618 (DOA) and it sounded a lot less processed than my A829, so you probably don't need the adjustments and it may just end up screwing up the sound stage a bit.

Yeah, maybe so.

Ah well you give it a shot dude.

U gona be selling your 728 then? Out of interest, what is it you don't like about the SQ or sonic character?

It's bugging me also - the SQ on the D2 seems so sweet to me - still better than my A829!!! Maybe it's just the placebo effect!!! I'll never be able to sell this thing (my D2).

B-Gain: -1.5
T-Gain: -3.0
DSEE: off
Clear Bass: +1
EQ: 0, -1, 0, +1, +1
Clear Stereo: off
Normalization: on

Still working out additional EQ settings, but so far this is sounding real nice.

Update: My A829 is now my main DAP. The D2 is slowly gathering dust. Shame really as it's a great player.

I've returned my player's settings to stock, without EQ or any sound enhancements. I think it actually sounds best this way.
