Hi guys,

I need some help choosing the right earphones. I have an iPod Nano 3rd gen. and the earphones just started buzzing and stuff. I need to find some replacements. At first I figured get the apple in-ear earphones, but I figured maybe apple are not the best in the market. My problem is most of the earphones you suggest are very expensive. I live in Europe I need something like 30-35 Euros max. I listen to Heavy / Thrash Metal music so I need really good bass and earphones that can respond well to the EQ.

Thanks.

You like seem to like bass. Sennheiser CX300 might fit you. Not sure how it responds to EQ though (but I don't think anything under 35 EUR would do exceptionally better)

Bass is that important to you listening to metal? For something like that, having good mids would be better I think.

Grado SR-60's are nice. The mid & high frequencies may be a bit of a shocker compared to what your used to but you can set the EQ on the ipod to bass booster. They are about $65 US or over 40 euro?

One model I recommend is the Sennheiser CX500, which I got off eBay (after making REAL sure they're the real production model).

The treble is slightly rolled off but I like the really clear bass and treble and the CX500's very high efficiency, which reduces the pressing need to get an expensive external headphone amp.
