I'm looking for some reviews of the MG Head. It looks like is in my near future. Also looking for dealers in CT. I know Headroom has them for $329.

thanks,
Bob

Use the search feature on this forum. Its a great amp for the price providing it is functioning properly. It definately has the tube sound. Dont hesitate to order from Headroom... they are the best.

It's possible the amps from Headroom are the Deluxe ones. Removable cord and cover, thus the higher price. I emailed them waiting for a reply before I order. How about the MG Head with an iPod? Modern and Old school meet.

$329 is a still a little on the high side, though. I think all of them come with the cover and detachable power cord now, so it's not really a delux thing. I would try divertech, or maybe even find a used one. If you go the used route (which is what I did), you can find almost brand new ones with detachable cord/cover for $200-250.

If you're looking for a print review then check out issue 58 of UHF magazine...www.uhfmag.com in the reading room they have a partial review...you'll have to order the magazine for the whole review.

To sum up they liked the MG Head(the non DT version) quite a bit. The DT version is an improvement.

As an owner and still using the stock tubes, I have been extremely impressed...it's much better than solid state offerings in this price range like Creek and IMO is a step up from the amps like Grado. Indeed, it's been a very nice surprise.

I order the Head from Headroom. Now I got an email saying it will take 2-3 weeks. So much for "available now".
