What amp "matches" the UE11's? (UE 11 pro headphone amplifier selection)

I find the Iqube to be an excellent pair with the UE-11s.

The bass goes very deep and everything is crystal clear and very extended.

The midrange seems ever so slightly reserved, but like skylab said, its nothing to worry about, the midrange still comes through with amazing resolution and clarity.

Note that I noticed a very low hiss even on low gain with the iqube and ue11s. Once again probably not to be worried about. Im getting an impedence adaptor anyways.

Overall the Iqube is quite amazing with the ue11s. Extended, clear, and deep. Couldnt be happier with that combo.

A good headphone isn't determined by whether it improves with an amp or not.

SR71a with 800 hours of burnin, sounds amazing to me with my ue11 pros. Soundstage, tight accurate yet warm bass, and treble is not too shrill just like i like it.
PLaying back lossless with a goldcab LOD fro my iphone 3gs sounds so good, that i almost returned a $2000 tube amp because it didnt sound way better. Calmer heads told me i should wait and burnin the tube amp which i am and the sound is getting better, but still the SR71A properly burned in, way out performs the burnt- in predator i have (of course its smaller and has a dac crammed in there.) just my 2 cents

I find the UE11Pro difficult to pair with the right amp, but once done the mids come forward and the bass is well controlled and they disappear!

My best amp with UE11Pro = Woo WA6

Next is my Single Power Square Wave XL but Mikhail screwed the compasy and customers.

My best portable for them is my iBasso D10 with TLE2141 class-A opamp and EL8201 as buffers. This is a small notch below the desktop amps, but the best synergy of any portable I have tried.

Then comes the Head-direct.com EF2 desktop amp. Synergy is good, just not as detailed as the others.

After that is the AMP3 with 600 hours, and the iPod video 5.5G headphone out. AMP3 is more detailed than EF2 but less refined and really needed a lot of hours to smooth out.

The Meier 3MOVE was previously my best portable but still a bit bass heavy vs the D10. I put it below the AMP3 and 5.5G only for the bass control, but everything else is better. If you like a stock D5000 you'll want the 3MOVE over the AMP3 and 5.5G iPod. All the others listed above control the bass a little bit better and have better synergy in terms of frequency responce. I posted a lot of this in my big review of UE11Pro vs JH13Pro and ES3X (see links in my public profile).

I'm actually getting a low level hum with my UE11's on the woo Was6e, which is very sad because its my best headphone. It seems the Woo isnt really designed for IEM's. But i have to say im really surprised and impressed by the SR71A after 1000 hours it sounds insane with my UE11pros, of course im running lossless from Ipod with a goldcab LOD !
