Do you think wearing full-size headphones in public makes you look like a spaz/geek/weirdo?

I have a pair of HD-25's too! And yes, i actually don't feel like an idiot with them in public. I guess, compared to most full-sized headphones, the HD25 are a very good compromise in terms of sound, portability, size, etc...

Also, they don't necessarily look expensive, so I don't really have to worry about them getting stolen. (Since the probability that most people would know anything about mid-fi phones or sennheiser in general is extremely low)

I would love to wear full size in public...but has anyone had bad experience here?

Sorry to revive this thread...but i find it interesting enough.

I would have to say maybe, depending on where you are. And also who cares if you do.

Hmmm tough question, I mean... yes full-size is weird (to other people obviously), but I did bring out my K271's and occasionally the HD650 (also sr-125, but that's not really a 'full-size can') just because liked the isolation of the former, the sound of the two latter. HD650 not for public transit, but for the 40 min walk home after the last busses/trains in the weekends so no one really saw them.
k271's sure gave some looks

now all this weird looking at me is over, as people now look at themselves in my shiny es7's

I wear gargantuan cans out in public and they are either ignored, glanced at or people ask me about them. I don't really give a crap what others think one way or the other, I have great mobile sound and my wee Rio Karma is still performing sterling service after all these years.

Wow, I first posted back on page twelve. Since then, my SR80s have become THE portable cans for me. Seriously, their cord is permanently half-coiled for length in a zippered pocket of my laptop bag. They are on my head for the entire hour-long TTC (Toronto transit) commute twice a day, and often on my head while I walk the streets of Toronto. I find their openness more a help than hindrance. I don't have to turn them too far up to be audible and Grado punchy enough from an iPod, yet I can still hear car honks and the automated bus stop voice. I greatly dislike high isolation in public, as I like to keep aware of my environment.

My case for the Grado SR80s as portable cans. *bows*

I don't find it weird to see someone with full size headphones out in public but I don't think I have the guts to do it myself because others may think it is weird looking.

I like to wear full-sized cans in public. Even though I'm listening to my ipod clone, I carry a metal detector and pretend that I'm searching for lost treasure, loose change, and rusty bottlecaps. That way, people don't think that I'm wierd.

Hehehehe. I'm so darned clever!

Cheers!

Grados look so classic, like your broadcasting for the BBC in 1945. I do not feel dorky in them for some reason.
