I'm a full time computer geek (Linux/Unix only usen', SCSI only, programmin', hardcore security-paranoid nutball)... and I have found that while the flow of air is not as good with ribbon cables, the data loss is actually less. I would recommend you stick with ribbon cables if you are worried with data loss. That said, in the sceme of things it really doesn't make a difference unless you are doing mission critial operations...and I doubt you would hear an audible difference between well made ribbon cables and well made round cables. Worth a shot though. I recommend Belkon.
