I'm looking for a pair of interconnects with silver (Ag) conductors.

So far I've noted down the following:

VH Audio Spectrum Ag w/ silver Bullets -- $529.99/1m
single conductor (solid) per channel

Qables Silvercab w/ 0110 Cu -- ~$400/0.8m
two conductor (solid) per channel

SignalCable Silver Resolution w/ silver Bullets -- $199/1m
four conductor (multistrand) per channel

Kimber Kable KCAG w/ 0147 -- $590/1m
three conductor (solid) per channel

DH Labs Revelation w/ Ultimate RCA -- $399/1m
six conductor (solid) per channel

Moon Audio Silver Dragon V2 w/ 0102 Ag -- $450/0.9m
eight conductor (solid) per channel

Moon Audio Blue Dragon V1 w/ silver Bullets -- $190/0.9m
four conductor (solid) per channel

ALO Audio Super 8 w/ Cardas RCA -- $365/0.9m
four conductors (solid) per channel

The VH Audio Spectrum Ag and Kimber KCAG seem to be the most overpriced. People seem to rave on about how transparent the Kimber KCAG is...

The Qables Silvercab, MA Silver Dragon V2 and DH Labs Revelation sound the most interesting and sophisticated from the marketing literature.

The SignalCable is the most reasonably priced. While many of the above look impressive, it pains me to think how cheap it was to procure the materials compared to how much they're selling for.... OK, maybe braiding four or eight conductors is a bit of hassle and requires a lot of skill, but still...

Anyone have any experience with the above? Are there any other notable interconnects I've missed out?

I've tried many, many silver cables but settled on Audioquest Sky ($2,500/1m). It sounds better becuase it uses teflon air tubes vs teflon coating, and it also has the 72v DBS system. I hear the Audioquest Colorado ($625/1m) is also really good for the price. It also uses air tubes and the DBS system. Check on Audiogon for a great deal on some used cables.

The best IC for the money is the DIY VH Audio silver recipe which is basically the same as he's selling ready made. I preferred it to my Kimber KS-1130 for a lot less money. I would also stay away from Teflon and use natural insulators instead. Ridge Street Audio also makes great cables if you don't want to go with DIY.

Homegrown Audio DNA 700€/1.0m

I am getting one of these interconnectors for home demo tomorrow. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Those interconnects seem reasonably priced, they have a lot of choice too, from $119 to $525 for the smallest size.

Hope they turn out good.

edit: only top end use cotton though...

I love the IMO affordable Kimber silver streak. Only the signal cable is silver but so what? Sound is really extend, spatial, dynamic and clear yet never sharp.

I also like the Audioquest Skys over any other cables I have used (and this is many) in my system. They also have the Niagara and Cheetah that are solid silver. Used prices go around Sky 1-1.5K, Niagara around 700.00, and Cheetahs for less than 500.00.

As much as I'd like to get a pair of Sky, they are way beyond what I can realistically spend on a pair of interconnects. I do not believe my components are "high end" enough to warrant the use of such expensive interconnects anyway. For $2.5k, I'd rather get a nicer source or electrostatic amp.

dura, you suggested the Kimber Silver Streak which uses copper for ground return vs silver for the KCAG. I wonder what effects that has on the sound...

Will the DBS packs ever run out of battery?

Try the Cheetahs used. They are smoother, and less hard sounding cable and allround better than the silver streak or KCAG. If you do go get the Kimbers the KCAG is step above the SS. The Kimbers are a faster, leaner sounding cable than the AQ silver offerings. I have had differeent prs of AQ cables for years and never had the batteries die. If they do they are only a few bucks at radio shack.

I've had the MAC as well. And I agree that for the price it's excellent wire!
