As mentioned previously in another thread I went to the Pearl Jam show on Tueday night in St. Louis (13th row from the stage)

And tonight I've been wondering about what the best headphones for Pearl Jam would be.

Just looking for some opinions.

Also, if you guys are going to buy any of the bootlegs for this tour, I will give the very gracious nod to the STL show they played alot of stuff that normally doesn't get played in concert.
They had the MP3's on the website already today, I was amazed.
Friggin 28 tracks.

The track "Improv" is espically bada$$

Also, the opening band Sparta was pretty good the song "Vacant Skies" is a really awesome song I suggest you give it a listen it is really punkish.

Anyway, see you in Little Rock.
If any of you are heading to that concert.

Used to like Pearl Jam until Vedder decided to do a tiatribe on George Bush at a concert in Denver. Apparently, he pulled a mask of Bush out, impailed it on the microphone stand and proceded to smash it on stage. During this demonstration, most of the crowd boo'd and walked out.

I don't care what he thinks....but don't use a "captive" audience to express personal views.

As for all of these "celebs/entertainers"..... ENTERTAIN us!

Sorry for puking on your thread.

Apparently that part about the most of the crowd leaving is BS.
Only a few dozen left.

Most of the crowd actually cheered

The denver press blew the story out of proportion and the rest of the media just ran with it.

Sounds like a Micheal Moore desciple.

"Only a few people boo'd and they were in the balchony".

Most of the crowd DID leave according to a co-woker that was at the show.

Don't belive everything you hear.

Don't get me wrong...I like PJ but prefer bands and celebs to do what their uneducated little minds are good at...ENTERTAINING!

The statement about bands and celebs having little minds and being uneducated (I assume you mean a formal education) is vague and just untrue, some of them don't have college degrees, never went to high school etc... but some of them have. For one, someone can be educated with out formal training by reading etc... I know some people that didn't go to college that are much smarter than some of the nitwits I was at University with.

I bet if he would have made some sort of I love Bush statement about how great he is, you would have loved that.

How do you insult me by calling me a Democrat
frown.gif

I'm far from that.

And by the way do you call everything you don't like Democrat?

That food tasted bad, must have been made by Democrats

Those headphones sound crappy, must be Democrat phones.
ETC......

That is pretty mindless IMO

Any way can we get back on topic if you want to discuss this further I would be happy to in the EDIT (Take it outside) but, I'm hoping to get some feedback from my initial question.

Geminga,

It occurs to me that there is an awful lot of music that carries a message that conveys the musicians beliefs whether they be political or otherwise. I would expect their live performances to have some inclination towards this as well. I might agree or I might not but at least it's more thought provoking than a lot of the fluff out there these days.

When you think about it Pearl Jam comes from the "grundge" alternative scene which to me is a more accessible offshot of the hardcore scene which was pretty much the successor of the punk movement... and your wondering why there are political messages???

Maybe you should consider listening to Britney Spears or n'sync if your not interested in music that has some meaning.
