should i get this now, or should i wait until a version with crossfeed comes out? upgrading would take 30 to 60 dollars in addition to the original 100 .. should i wait or buy it now and upgrade it later?

any suggestions?

Plenty of money = buy it now, uprade it later.

Lack of money = be patient and wait for the crossfeed version.

HI: Get v5.18 upgrade now for 30.00 and when v6 with crossfeed comes out I think there will be an out board crossfeed for the v5.18

the problem is, i dont have v5 .. i'm thinking about buying it entirely for 100 usd ... so i guess i'll be patient lol

is there a big difference between the analog volume, 2 step volume, and 1 step volume? what did you guys choose?

Lou says stay away from the one button stuff liek the plague. Once you reach the maximum level it goes on to lowering the volume all of a sudden. I personally would go with an analog knob over anything else, but would take a two button digital if I had to.

HI: I would not get the one button digital volume. I had it and didn't like it. The 2 button sounds a lot better. I did get the analog volume. The reason for that was when I used the booster the analog volume let me get 9 volt power and the 2 button digital only got 7.2 volts power. But with the v5.18 I no longer need to use the booster because the v5.18 is so strong with just 3 AAA batt. and sounds great.

For what it's worth, I have the 2-button v5 and it works like a charm.

IIRC the last time I was on the fixup webpage it was about the 3 or 4 something, now is 5.18 it sems that we are gonna have one version every week, why not wait six months for the v10, or any other definitive version and I hope this will end the whole story unless you like to keep on making upgrades every week, to get the best out of it.....

i think V6 might just be the perfect version, it'll have all the features of a "grown-up" amp and prolly won't have much space left on the PCB.

that said, fixup will no doubt surprise us with yet further miniturisation. I might look at buying me a V6 if they're any good!
