im new to the forum but ive been in the market for a good pair of headphones for a while now because my parents will kill be if i get crazy speakers and im kinda addicted to headphones now. I got a pair of sony MR-180s yea they arent good lol so im thinking of getting either the 280s or the 570s. I listen to lots and lots of music while at my comp mostly all kinds of rock and i play lots of video games. If anyone wants to give me some help id reall appreciate it id like to keep it within a 100 dollar price range (570s are alot more than 100 but i see them go cheaper on ebay)...

Avoid the 570; from what I have read they suck.
If you listen to a lot of rock and (I'm guessing) like bass, I would recommend the Sony V6 over the HD280. Note, this is not the Sony V600; the Sony V6 is a different model.

well ive looked around and seen the V6 it doesent look really comfortable though i like alot of padding and i was wondering what sites you guys get your headphones from < n00b

Alternatively, you should try getting a used pair...I've seen some HD570s for sale on the gear for sale forum here...
