I was thinking about chipping in with my sis to by an MD deck. I'm thinking about converting my CD collection, so I really don't feel like using a whole week to convert my collection. I know that MD decks make it super fast to rip your CD's. Any recommendations for a deck in the $200 range?

Also, would using a deck make it any easier to label the tracks? I really hated spending 15 minutes to label one album with my sis's MD. It would be nice if you could connect a mini keyboard to your MD. That would be awesome. I know some cell phones have that capability. Thanks!

I hope my Sharp DR-7 lives up to the hype

look into these two Sony Decks:

MXD-D5C-this one i own, its a 5cd changer/MD deck, has a keyboard output, so titling should be a snap, also reads cd text.

MXD-D40-this is a single cd player with a MD dwelling, this is a little cheaper than the D5C, look n see if this has a keyboard output as well.

They both fall somewhere between $250-300, see if you can find a cheaper deal as i got the D5C deck for $200 in January 2002 from a Sonystyle store.

Wow! $200? The cheapest I could find it was for $300 (including shipping). That's a sweet deal. I wish I could find it for that price because it's the only way my buddy would split the cost with me

If you come across that unit at that price again, please let me know
