hi Folks,i have a question.because i have a cousin in holiday in the U.S. so i had the luck to buy some mid-fi products, obviously cheaper  then where i live,so i decided to buy some HF5 cause they were 95$ on amazon, the TF10 were cheap too,but 70 dollars more.
Did somebody already tried to insert the tri-flange from Ety`s to the Triple Fi?just for curiosity.
Hope someday i will have the opportunity to buy them. Thanks

Even though most people will tell you that it's madness, I did something similar. I took shure triple flanges and shoved them on the triple fi. Waste of time, and could have damaged my headphones. The triple flanges designed for it are much better.

I actually find the HF5's on the same level IF you're into that sort of tone. It's not for most people though, thats for sure.

Oddly enough, can't scrape up the funds for an aftermarket cable. So, a bit of pin flattening later, I managed to make the left connector fit relatively tightly. Just one small problem: the pin hole is widened now. I probably should move to a UE custom cable sooner or later or perhaps a Jaben cable.

Haha hey man if you like all treble clarity and complete overall balance at the cost of sounding interesting to the uninitiated, then they're kinda on the same level!

My God, something weird has happened.
TF10 was one of my first IEMs few years back before I sold them and moved on to SM3, W4R and now that I am moving on to customs I decided to pick up another pair of TF10 from the FS forums as my replacement IEM while I await the arrival of my customs.
Now, when I hear it, their mids sounds so exceptionally recessed and veiled to me, so much so I have no choice but to EQ them so they sound better.
I have never found the need to EQ them in the past.

Anyone encountered this?

Every time I go from my Senn 800 or 600 to the TF.  If I go from cheap Skullcandy in ears for work to the TF, the TF's sound great.

Now that explains it. My old pair of Monster Turbines probably made the TF10 sound so very excellent in all aspects.

However, I still find the TF10 very fun and musical to listen to after all this while.
Guess that part has not changed.
All in all, still a good ol' trusty pair of IEM.

I've used the sm3 almost exclusively for almost a year now. A month ago I went back to the TF10s and found them to be much more to my liking. To me the SM3 mids were too forward, tf10 sounds more open. I'm also using this cable though, which helps open up the sound and clean up the spectrum: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OFC-Ultimate-Ears-upgrade-cable-UE-triple-fi-10-SF-3-5-/260947400156?pt=UK_AudioVisualElectronics_HomeAudioHiFi_Headphones&hash=item3cc1ad55dc#ht_2382wt_1026. I tried them with the sm3s but didn't match too well.

Just out of curiosity, what do you guys drive them with? Everyone is complaining about recessed mids but I really don't hear it.
Noticing from an impedance graph, the impedance peaks out in the mids at 64.5 ohms and bottoms out in the treble at 6.5 ohms. I know I had the problem of the mids feeling very...Well, headache-inducing foward on my Droid 2, but it doesn't show on an HP TouchPad.

Before you guys go off on me because it has so called (deactivated) "Beats Audio" that is rubbish, the DAC in the TouchPad is effectively a really beefed up version of the one found in the Samsung Galaxy S. Same chip series, but much more power.

To my ears the TF10 sounds pretty flat with no deficit in the midrange. Very natural sounding
