It might not be too late to cancel your order.. he still has to make the cable. Save yourself some time and $...

Ooh, tempting, but......Nah, wouldn't be fair. A deal is a deal.

Good luck w/ selling yours.

BTW...What was it about the Lune sound you didn't like, kloan? You only rec'd the cable today - must be quite a noticeable presentation. It would be interesting to hear your reaction to the Triple Fi/Lune combo.

It signifantly altered the sound signature. It closed the gap between frequencies in such a way that some tranparancy was lost. I'm not sure what frequency in particular it is I'm hearing, but it replaced the slightly sucked out mids that a lot of people refer to. It's a forward sound. In that sound is where things seem to be brought closer together in the head. Where I could listen to Radiohead and Mars Volta with enjoyment, I'm now finding them mid-centric and less bassy. Treble peaks have been tamed, which is nice, but overall it is a sound I was definitely not expecting.

Another thing I noticed when listening to Sia - Beautiful Calm Driving, her vocals are no longer as crisp and forward, but get slightly veiled by that 'mids' sound I'm hearing.

I may learn to appreciate the new sound if I gave it some time, just like with many other IEMs, but I've decided to try out the UM3X, and if I prefer them I'll sell the Triples.

EDIT: Someone suggested the cable might need burn-in... I'll try that before concluding.

I use the small silicon tips on my SE210's, will the Triple Fi's be comfortable ?

Comfort with Triples is the $$$$ question & the trouble is, every person's perception of it is different. Many find them quite easy to wear, many don't. Some find the cable a pain, f'rinstance (I haven't had any comfort issues w/ the cable at all) but at least you can swap out that for the Westone, Null & eventually ALO.Your small tips will be fine, but whether you will find the size of the housing OK is something you won't know until you try them. Flipping them (reversing L & R housings & cables) makes ease of use much better for some, and some find a seal is easier to keep flipped ( I vary between stock & flipped, but mostly use stock). Not a problem solely limited to Triple Fi - I noted a similar discussion about IE8, in terms of seal...

@kloan - I'd say it's definitely worth hanging on to the Null for at least a few days - see if the presentation grows on you.
Yes, those UM3X are tempting! Let us know your impressions when you have them

Those are very similar impressions to the Null Audio cable I have although in my opinion it's better balanced overall, not really mid-centric as you're finding them. Like you I do find the bass was a bit lessened, less punchy I guess, but again, it seems to be a sacrifice for balance. I'm somewhat curious how the Enyo cable sounds now, for that matter I'm curious about the ES2 cable as well.

FWIW (my ears aren't perhaps the best) I didn't really notice any difference in sound presentation with the ES2, but it was supremely comfortable, just disappeared in use.

Eh?.... Nothing on UE's website. Probably just means that dealer is discontinuing them. When the day does come, I'll be ordering a pair or two!

Edit\ @ kloan - did you decide to keep the Lune for awhile? Any happier w/ the sound? My Lune just got shipped. should be a few days now...
